Dismantling houses piece by piece

In Dayton today they started doing something I have wanted them to know but didn't know they had started . They are taking buildings down piece by piece and are saving the pieces to be sold off and put into other houses .
If a house scheduled for demolition has new windows and a house being rebuilt needs new windows the windows can be put in the house needing work . Doing this can save houses and can cost less .
It also creates jobs for people looking for work and it pays for itself unlike a wrecking ball parts of the old houses are salvaged and used in other old houses needing repair.
They say some of the floors taken out of the old houses have better wood in them in stuff which is for sale today .
I hate to see all of the vacant lots were houses use to be but it is nice to know a part fo the old houses are being salvaged .
Vintage plumbing is hard to find today but with doing this it can be found . Dayton is a lovely old city I grew up here it is nice to see part of the city will be saved for posterity . Dayton has been tearing down houses for years thsi is the first time I have heard of a wrecking companmy which saves parts of the old houses I first blogged this on dayton o's then I read about it in the dayton daily news afterwards it si up on my website page 386 http://www.dollslikeus.com/ I forgot to add my old grade school Huffman elementary is now a retirement community . Although a lot of schools and churches have been torn down it is nice to see a big beautiful scruture like this survive the wrecking ball.
