some people are working fewer hours

My brother told me they are giving him less hours to work but are still keeping him so he is down from 40 to 3 hours on he's main job he says that is a loss in income of 200 dollars a month . But at least he has a job he is 76 years old working two jobs with a pacemaker and a difibulator on him . He gets to sit some on he's guard job in between rounds tht he makes .
He is not the only one and credit is drying up for old people they use to could charge things but today they can charge less and less especially if they have trouble making payments .
This is better then for people who haven't worked in a while and have used up there unemployment what then and there savings .

We didn't know we were lossing our jobs

No one told us we were going to lose our jobs at all we figured we were keeping our jobs just getting out more work . Some of the people had worked there for over 20 years .
We all worked will together we were a team everybody knew everybody and was friendly toward one another .
Machines started getting shipped out of the plant our big boss came out and told us not to worry we were not lossing our jobs we were .
About a month or to latter they finally told us that some of us would go first others would stay longer that we were eligeable for retraining . I looked into the retraining at the local college . First thing they want you to do is list what you like to do . Will I like to do art I have worked in a lot of areas in art I have done ceramics for about 4 or 5 years . Plus I had two years of art in high school I sew . I have done bread dough . I embrodery I have copied pictures from the kids coloring books and have embrodered them for the kids when they were young .
I have made rag dolls dressed dolls I have a degree in cosmetology which I never really used . I put down I like everything there is in art it came back you don't like art .
I took college entrance exam and figured if I kept coming back and tring I could test at a higher level that didn't work
I was a old person . I wanted to write books and illustrate them my self they didn't like that at all . They didn't have money to train people to write book they wanted people doing other things I was to close to retirement to retrain even when I worked at Merit I had this crazy idea of writing books and I worked on it in my spare time .I was not finished with a book but I had made a lot of progress .I talked to a seinor advisor called Dr T he was a wonderful man who advised people he thought I should get a job not train and do what I wanted ot do in my spare time .
So I wound up pounding the pavement looking for a job while I continued to work on my first book and took a seinor class in writing to help me .
They had a thing in there were some old people could retire early our company didn't want that

Merit abrasives

Was a manufacturing job that I had in Brookville Ohio I worked it for 5 years and liked the people who worked there and who ran it a lot . They were very nice people and we worked will and hard together .
Our company was purchased by a company in France . They wanted more production the first thing they did was up our hours that we worked from 40 to 58 going from 40 to 58 was really tough . All you got done in life was sit in a chair and work your job morning noon and night .
When we were working 5 ten hour shifts and one 8 hour shift we got a extra 10 minute break which was over and gone before we knew it had even happened .
Home life wasn't there much my husband found himself sleeping more and more hours while I was gone a whole weekend off didn't rarely if ever happen but we all needed it to rest .
I gained a lot of weight no extercise sit sit sit no walking around just sitting there . I could hardly walk when this job ended and had to go thru physical therapy to get better .
